Razor Sharp Focus: The Key to Avoid Millions of Distractions.

Razor Sharp Focus: The Key to Avoid Millions of Distractions.

It’s so easy to loose focus when it comes to sticking to your plan. There are billions of conflicting ideas on how to get something “right.” The old adage “the grass is always greener on the other side” should be rendered “the grass LOOKS greener on the other side. This especially hold true when you are just starting out on a project, but everyone knows that distraction can strike anytime even when we are really getting into our groove.

So how do you keep focused on your current task and master one specific way to make money on line?  One way is to seal yourself in a room and don’t do anything else until you master a technique. This “room” is imaginary. Research everything there is to know about one thing, then, once you know what to do, don’t do anything else until you accomplish your goal. If you see yourself start drifting, take a break from the computer. In the mean time don’t research anything or look up better ways to do what you are doing. You already did all your research remember. Any more research will just distract you and waste time.

Stay on focus with a Micro-Task List

Another way to stay focused is to make a list of things you have to do during your day. I usually make this list in the morning over a cup of tea. (Yes, I drink tea, so should you!) Then once you have your list, put it right next to your computer on your desk where you can see it. Make sure its visible no matter what activity you are doing on the computer. Now here is the hardest part: do something on your list and don’t stop doing it until you can truthfully cross it out. Just a quick note on what to put on your list; don’t put unrealistic goals on your list, put small tasks like “write an article for my blog”. Don’t write down things like “make a million dollars” or “Learn Chinese” on your list.

The point of the list is there so you don’t have to think about what to do next. You just see it on your list, do the task, then cross it off your list. Simple. Just take action. Otherwise you will be distracted  into oblivion.

If you get wishy washy or become a flip-flopper then you will be paralyzed and so will your business. You’ll just go back to your 9-5 job and then you can just get comfortable there letting your boss make decisions for you. That’s the nice thing about a job. It doesn’t matter if the tasks you are assigned to do actually help the business, you work for someone else. You don’t worry about making the right choices or doing the best you can. You just do the minimum to avoid getting fired.

But we know that is no way to live; in pointless mediocrity. Read why I quit my day job. So, if you don’t have a boss breathing down your neck, you better learn to focus or else you may never reach your goals. Then you’ll have to go back to your job and have your boss on your butt again. DO or DIE! (more or less)

Distraction can lead to misconception(sometimes). However, being focus in the business you have is the idea of other people to become more productive in the business they have!
